The chamber pot, your nightly companion

 

Chamber pots aren't the indispensable utensils that they once used to be. The advance of modern comforts like inhouse plumbing, central heating and en-suite bathrooms has made it easier to use the "main waste receptacle" instead of that smelly thing under the bed or in its little cupboard. Most of the chamber pots on this page are either antique or vintage (we've also got a dedicated antique chamber pot and vintage chamber pot page) - with the exception of childrens' potties they're hardly made anymore.
